Parking/Local Travel
Full instructions and maps can be found below, but here is a summary of options for parking and transportation during the conference:
Getting to conference and preconference sessions at the Rubenstein Library on Duke's West Campus
- Park on West Campus at the Bryan Center Deck (PGIV)—$2/hr, $12/day maximum
- Hotel guests can take the free hotel shuttle. This is an 11-seat shuttle that runs every 30 minutes from 6:30am–9:30pm. While you can walk onto the shuttle, it's recommended that you arrange a departure time at the hotel desk in advance.
- Take the free Duke bus (C-1 route) from the East Campus Quad to the Duke Chapel stop, which is just steps from the Rubenstein Library.
Getting to the Thursday evening Reception at the Biddle Music Building on Duke's East Campus
- Park at the free Asbury Methodist Church parking lot on Markham Avenue. Additional parking is available on the side streets off of Markham Avenue after 5:00pm.
- Hotel guests can take the free hotel shuttle.
- Walk from the hotel to Biddle Music Building, which is about a 15-minute walk.
Getting to the Nasher Museum
- Park at the Nasher Museum parking lot. The parking fee is $2/hr.
- Park for free on Oregon Street or Alexander Avenue, adjacent to the museum.
- Hotel guests can take the free hotel shuttle.

Getting to the Nasher Museum for the Friday evening Banquet
Parking: Parking in the Nasher Museum lot is $2/hour. Free parking is also available on nearby Alexander Avenue and Oregon Street.
Hotel shuttle: Attendees staying at the Hilton Garden Inn can take the free hotel shuttle which runs every 30 minutes until 9:30pm. It’s recommended that you reserve the shuttle in advance at the hotel desk.
