Conference attendees can fly into Baton Rouge or nearby New Orleans. Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) is served by American Eagle, Delta, US Airways, and United. Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is served by American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, jetBlue, Delta, AirTran, United and US Airways.
Transportation options from the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR)
- Taxis are available outside the baggage claim area. Approximate travel time to the LSU campus is approximately 20 minutes. Fares are $26-30 plus tip. A list of taxi companies is available on the Baton Rouge airport website. You may wish to call ahead to avoid waiting.
- Tiger Airport Shuttle provides transportation starting at $39.95 per person. Special rates may be available for large groups. Call (225) 333-8167 between 8am and 6pm CST.
- Rental cars are available at the airport. To drive to the Lod Cook Hotel, leave the Baton Rouge Municipal Airport by travelling west on the service road, less than .5 miles. Turn left on Veterans Memorial Blvd, travel .9 miles. Turn right on Harding Blvd at the stoplight and immediately exit to the entrance ramp to I-110 South toward Baton Rouge. Drive 7.7 miles to the Dalrymple Drive exit. Merge right onto Dalrymple at the bottom of the exit ramp. Travel between the lakes, enter the campus and turn left at the traffic circle on W. Lakeshore Dr. Drive .3 miles and Lod Cook Hotel is on your right behind the Lod Cook Alumni Center.

- Rental cars are available from the airport. To drive to the Lod Cook Hotel, leave the New Orleans Airport on the Airport Access Road. Turn right onto Airline Dr/US-61 S, travel for 3 miles. Merge onto I-310 N toward Baton Rouge, travel 2.7 miles and merge on I-10 W via EXIT 1 on the left toward Baton Rouge. After 64.3 miles, take the Dalyrymple Drive exit, EXIT 156B, toward LSU. Merge right onto Dalrymple Drive, travel .9 miles. Enter the roundabout (traffic circle) and continue on W. Lakeshore Dr. Travel .3 miles, Lod Cook Hotel is on your right behind the Lod Cook Alumni Center.
Traveling by Car
- From the east. If traveling on I-10 or I-59, exit onto I-12 at Slidell. Follow signs to Hammond and Baton Rouge (90 miles). I-12 merges with I-10 as you are entering Baton Rouge. Keep right and follow the signs to the Dalrymple exit. Merge right onto Dalrymple at the bottom of the exit ramp. Travel between the lakes, enter the campus and turn left at the traffic circle on W. Lakeshore Dr. Drive .3 miles and Lod Cook Hotel is on your right behind the Lod Cook Alumni Center.
- From Memphis and points north. Take I-55 south through Jackson, Mississippi. At Hammond, Louisiana, take exit 29B and merge onto I-12. I-12 will merge into I-10 as you are entering Baton Rouge. Keep right and follow the signs to the Dalrymple exit. Merge right onto Dalrymple at the bottom of the exit ramp. Travel between the lakes, enter the campus and turn left at the traffic circle on W. Lakeshore Dr. Travel .3 miles and Lod Cook Hotel is on your right behind the Lod Cook Alumni Center.
- From New Orleans. Take I-10 West. After you have entered Baton Rouge, keep right and follow the signs to the Dalrymple exit Merge right onto Dalrymple at the bottom of the exit ramp. Parking Information
- Ample parking is provided at the Cook Hotel for conference attendees.
- ON CAMPUS PARKING for PRECONFERENCE and CONFERENCE (Oct. 2 and 3)—parking is provided free of charge by the LSU Libraries for preconference attendees at the Union Square Parking Garage Instructions will be sent to each of you individually.
- On Saturday, Oct. 4, free parking is available on campus.
To Hill Memorial Library from the Lod Cook Hotel
By Car
Exit the hotel, turn left on W Lakeshore Drive. Turn left on to Dalrymple Drive. As you cross Highland Road, the Visitor’s Center is on the right. For a nominal fee, parking on campus is available for visitors. Visit LSU’s Parking and Transportation Services page where you will find a campus map on the right. By Bus
Free bus service will be available on week days between the hotel and campus. The bus runs every 15 minutes. To get to the bus stop, leave the hotel, turn right on W. Lakeshore Drive. Walk .1 miles, to the Chi Omega House and from here take the GOLD BUS into campus. When returning to the Hotel, take the GOLD bus. Ask the bus driver to announce the stops you'll need.

Exit the hotel, turn left on W Lakeshore Drive, walk .3 miles. Turn left on to Dalrymple Drive, travel .4 miles past the parade ground. Turn left onto Tower Drive, walk .1 miles, turn right and pass by the Clock tower. Walk past the front of Middleton Library, continue to Hill Memorial Library. It is a 1 mile, 20 minute walk.
