Hotels

Please note: If you will be traveling by air, you will fly into Nashville International Airport, which is approximately 10-12 miles from the two hotels designated for the 2013 conference. The cheapest shuttle service to and from the airport is currently priced around $11-12 + tax/tip, although there are many other options listed through the website of the Nashville International Airport.

Both hotels are within walking distance of conference venues, and are within easy reach of a number of restaurants in the 21st Avenue and West End Avenue neighborhoods.

Holiday Inn Vanderbilt

At the Holiday Inn Vanderbilt, the room rate for one King or two Queen beds is $124/night + 15.25% tax + $2.50 occupancy tax. This rate is confirmed for dates from October 10-12 and for dates before and after this period based on room availability. Each room includes a flatscreen TV, a minifridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker.

Additional amenities include free parking, free wi-fi Internet access, a business center in the lobby, a fitness center, an outdoor pool, a restaurant/bar, and free hotel shuttle service (by request) for any destination within a radius of 3 miles. This distance will cover all conference venues and the downtown area. A hot breakfast ($) is also available in the lobby.

Important: In order to receive the SEMLA group rate, you must reserve your room by September 10, 2013. Rooms can be reserved online or by calling the hotel at 1-615-327-4707 (toll-free: 1-877-327-4707) and and telling them you are with the "Southeast Music Library Association Conference." (Just "SEMLA" will not be enough.) Referencing block code "SML" will also help. The reservation line is open 24/7.

Scarritt Bennett

Accommodations for the more frugal-minded are also available at Scarritt Bennett, a former college campus. Private rooms with shared baths are available in converted residence halls at a rate of $50 + tax (15.25% + $2.50). Amenities include free wi-fi Internet access and complimentary parking. Bear in mind there are no elevators at Scarritt Bennett, but first-floor rooms can be requested.
