Important Parking Information:

Parking permits will be mailed on Monday, September 29.

Preconference attendees who register after Sept. 29 need to arrive 45 minutes early to allow sufficient time to obtain a permit & legally park your car in a permit spot.

Conference attendees who register after Sept. 29 may obtain permits at Thursday's reception. If you do not obtain a permit at Thursday's reception and plan to drive to Friday's conference, you need to arrive 45 minutes early to allow sufficient time to obtain a permit & legally park your car in a permit spot.

Yes, we really do mean 45 minutes!

Travel to the Conference

By Air:

Pitt-Greenville Airport (PGV):
The closest airport, located in Greenville. US Airways flys 3-5 flights per day between PGV and Charlotte. (If you book a flight to Greenville, ensure that the airport code is PGV in Greenville, North Carolina. There are larger airports in Greensboro, NC, and Greenville, SC, and in the past people coming to Greenville, NC have been booked on flights to these locations.)

Shuttle service will be provided between PGV and the conference hotel, and between the conference hotel and PGV after the conference. Please email David Hursh (hurshd@ecu.edu) with your arrival and departure times to reserve your spot.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU):
The closest major airport, 98 miles / 1 hr. 45 min. from Greenville.

Directions to hotel via Google maps

Directions to Music Library & "A" Parking via Google maps (Thursday reception, Friday banquet, Saturday conference)

Textual Directions to Music Library from the West via 264

1. 264 becomes Stantonsburg Rd. when you enter Greenville
2. Turn right at the Arlington Blvd. light. Drive .9 miles
3. Turn left at the Dickinson Ave. light. Drive 1.5 miles
4. Turn slight right onto W. 10th Street. (The railroad tracks cross at this intersection.) Drive 1.1 miles.
5. At the College Hill Drive stoplight, Fletcher Music Center is on your left. Turn left.
6. Park in any of the "A" designated spaces. More "A" parking is available north of the building - turn right immediately after entering the parking lot, and continue on to the north side of the building.
7. You do not need a parking pass for the Thursday reception, Friday banquet, or Saturday sessions.

Textual directions to Joyner Library from the west via 264.

6. On Library Dr., pass the International House and turn right into the metered gravel lot. Park in one of the spaces with a “Joyner Guest” bag over the meter. Display your parking permit.
7. Walk to Joyner Library: cross Library Dr. and walk towards the clock towers.
8. If all reserved spaces are taken, your permit also allows you to park in any ECU “B” lot. Directions from metered lot to “B” lot: turn left onto Library Drive. Turn left onto Cotanche St. and then almost immediately right into the “B” lot (across the street from McDonalds.)

Travel Between Hotel and Conference Meeting Locations

Shuttle service will be provided between the hotel and all conference meeting locations. You may also drive your own car. If driving your own car, you will need a parking hangtag for Friday sessions and for Thursday preconference events.

Directions to Music Library from hotel

1. From the hotel parking lot, turn left onto Greenville Blvd.
2. At the first stoplight, turn right onto 10th Street.
3. Drive 1.5 miles to the stoplight at College Hill Dr. Fletcher Music Center is on your right.
4. Turn right at the stoplight. Park in any of the "A" designated spaces. More "A" parking is available north of the building: turn right immediately after entering the parking lot, and continue on to the north side of the building. .

Directions to Joyner Library from hotel

1. From the hotel parking lot, turn left onto Greenville Blvd.
2. At the first stoplight, turn right onto 10th Street.
3. Drive 2 miles to the stoplight at Charles St. Wendy's is on your right. Turn right. [ Note: If you miss this intersection, the next light is in 1 block at Charles Blvd./Cotanche St. McDonalds is on your right. Turn right, pass McDonalds, turn right again onto Library Dr., pass the International House, and arrive in the metered gravel parking lot. ]
4. Just behind Kinko's, turn left into the metered gravel lot. Park in one of the spaces with a “Joyner Guest” bag over the meter. Display your parking permit.
5. Walk to Joyner Library: cross Library Dr. and walk towards the clock tower.

Directions from Music Library to La Promenade (Thursday dinner)

1. In the parking lot, drive on past Brewster and Christenbury buildings and exit the parking lot by turning RIGHT (W) onto 10th St.
2. Drive .5 miles on 10th St. to Charles Blvd. (2nd stop light.) McDonalds is on your right, Krispy Kreme is on your left.
3. Turn LEFT (S) onto Charles Blvd. Drive 1.2 miles to Greenville Blvd (2nd stop light.) You will pass the ECU stadium and football fields.
4. Turn RIGHT (SW) onto Greenville Blvd.
5. Drive .3 miles to Arlington Blvd. (2nd stop light.) The Colonial Mall is on your left and gas stations/service shops are on each of the other 3 corners.
6. Turn LEFT (SE) onto Arlington Blvd. Very quickly, take your first right into La Promenade (there is no sign.) If you miss this turn, there are several more entrances.
7. Meander through the parking lot of La Promenade and park and eat at the restaurant you desire.

Directions from La Promenade (Thursday dinner) to Music Library

1. These directions start at the Starbucks.
2. From Starbucks, turn RIGHT (NE) onto Greenville Blvd.
3. Drive 3 miles to the Best Western Suites. You will pass through 7 stoplights. The seventh stoplight is the 10th Street stoplight. At this light, Burger King is on your left. Best Western Suites will be on your right in less than 1/4 mile.
