Membership details:

The SEMLA fiscal year is July 1-June 30. Dues for a given fiscal year are payable on or before July 1 of that year. Members who pay their dues after September 1st may not appear in that year's Membership Directory. "Student" means any full- or part-time graduate student in an accredited library or information science program or graduate music program. Regular, student, and retired members may vote in elections and are eligible to run for office in the organization in accordance with SEMLA Bylaws. New members who join the chapter after January 1 will have their dues applied to the next fiscal year; they will be considered members in good standing from the date they joined the chapter. No pro-rating of fees is available to those renewing their membership late in the fiscal year. Dues are nonrefundable.
